Worship is giving honour and homage and adorations to God. Worship means to declare worth, to attribute worth – to speak, or sing about how good, how great, how awesome and how powerful God is. It is speaking about who God is. This is a purpose for which we are called: “You are a chosen people, who were call forth to show His praise” (1 Peter 2:9). We were called for the purpose of praising God and worshiping God. That is one of the job descriptions of a Christian. We should declare that God is worthy, worth more than everything else put together.
The heartbeat of God in all seasons of life is to be in communion with man, God told Moses in Exodus 25:8 “Build me a sanctuary that I may dwell among you” – WORSHIP BRINGS US INTO UNION AND COMMUNION WITH GOD. God is a God of relationships. He wants to be in oneness and be united with you and He is saying “BE UNITED WITH ME THROUGH YOUR WORSHIP”
Worship is more than coming to a church service lifting our hands to sing, do some bible studies and some meditational prayers but, WORSHIP IS A LIFESTYLE FOR A BELIEVER.
Worship is an act of total submission to God. To worship is to act as an inferior before the superior. It is your faith-response to God because you recognise that God is supreme and sovereign. As you worship in your lifestyle of submission to God, you are saying “God I trust You, You know better than I know, You do better than I can do and I submit myself to Your mighty power, regardless of what the circumstances may be.
The Spirit of the Lord is calling us to worship, He is calling us to be in union and communion with God and live a life that exercises and manifests the will of God. He is calling us to draw nearer to Him because we are created for worship and we cannot worship Him from afar off and no one can worship God on your behalf.
God bless you,
