The Children’s Day last Sunday was exciting not just for the children and parents but the whole congregation as they looked for the drama and antics of the little one who were coming in front of the congregation for the first time.
The Baby section came up first and they presented a group song, a duet (Moyo and Catherine), memory verses and the Ten Commandments.
The older children presented memory verses, songs, a dance routine (to the song “Joyful, Joyful”) and a Christmas play.
One of the children department workers, Christopher Adeoshun, led the church in time of Bible quiz which was a lot of fun as usual.
When the adults in the church were challenged (after watching the children) to recite the Bible verses they memorised as children, some recited the psalms, other busted out into the songs they used in learning their own memory verses but one person blew everyone else out of the water. Dr. Femi Oyekan recite the whole of John chapter 3! For this he got a standing ovation from the whole congregation. Dr. Oyekan said his mum taught him that chapter when he was just 7 years old! Amazing what children learn and remember!!
Pastor Richard rounded up the day with a short exaltation.
All in all God got the glory for the day.
