Sunday 26th June was our second annual Prayer Day and the theme was ‘The Lord will do a new thing’ based on Isaiah 43:19 ‘Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert’.
Majority of the service was centred around praying for what God has done for us already, what He is currently doing and what He is yet to do. It was also a time for us to put our focus on prayers for other brethren that are in need.
Sister Moji Akinduro shared a beautiful sermon. She said “When you hear the word ‘new’, what comes to mind? Something new, brand new, something unique, something unusual, something uncommon, something you’ve never seen before, something great and mighty. Sometimes it comes as surprise and other times, you are already expecting it.
God is already doing a new thing, but you’re not seeing it. For the mere fact that you are not seeing it yet, doesn’t mean God isn’t at work. He is working behind closes doors and you need to be open to receive it. For its only God that can pave a way in the wilderness, faith is now!”
Overall it was a beautiful service and God was honored.
