When the children of Israel were clamouring for flesh and Moses went to meet with God. God promised to give them more flesh then they required. Moses questioned HOW it will happen to which God answered……
Numbers 11:23 (The Message)
God answered Moses, “So, do you think I can’t take care of you? You’ll see soon enough whether what I say happens for you or not.”
And again …
Isaiah 59:1-2 (KJV)
“Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”
There was a time that i could not do without eating a bar of ‘Snickers’ everyday. I enjoyed it at first and then it became an addiction which i had to seriously pray about. I prayed – God answered – I’m thankful. Today i only eat it or any other candy-bar only if i want to – not my body craving it.
This may seem little to a lot of people but if it’s important to you (as it was to me) it is important to God.
If we don’t ask God for small things, we will not learn how to thank Him for small things. You can’t enjoy benefits that you don’t remember. Your time of worship is essential for thanking God for all things – great or small.
In Psalms 103:1-5, David’s spirit was telling his soul what to do. Here it is in the The Message version of the Bible:
O my soul, bless God. From head to toe, I’ll bless His Holy Name!
O my soul, bless God, don’t forget a single blessing!
He forgives your sins—every one.
He heals your diseases—every one.
He redeems you from hell—saves your life!
He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown.
He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal.
He renews your youth—you’re always young in his presence.
Look around you and you will find things to thank God for. You don’t even have to get out of bed before finding something to thank God for in any day. Not praying about small things can lead to not thanking God for small things.
Thank God for everything and in every situation or circumstance – great or small
“Those who take the time to recollect what God has done for them do not struggle to praise and worship God.” – Richard Jama
Pray about everything. Thank God for the little things.
God bless you.
